What is Apple Sawfly and Why is it a Problem?
Apple sawfly is a small, black insect that lays eggs in apple and plum blossoms. After the petals fall, the larvae hatch and bore into the fruit, causing it to drop prematurely. Early detection and control are crucial for protecting your apple harvest.
How Do I Use Apple Sawfly Traps?
Simply remove the protective paper from the trap and hang it from an apple tree. Use one trap per tree. For optimal results, hang the traps in early April and replace them in June. The sticky traps will capture adult sawflies, helping to reduce the overall pest population.
